Project

This project explores the visualisation of real protein structures from known viruses, using raw datasets from the Worldwide Protein Data Bank. By translating highly complex molecular geometries into spatial images, the work bridges scientific data and visual representation. Instead of abstract diagrams, the structures are rendered as detailed, legible forms that reveal their internal logic, symmetries, and irregularities. The process treats data not only as information, but as a material—shaped through filtering, scaling, and visual framing. The resulting images offer a new perspective on microscopic architectures, making them accessible as both scientific insight and visual artefact.
